Drop It Like It’s Yacht

Drop It Like It’s Yacht

Last Summer I was invited to a YACHT party that sailed in the Marina for a few hours! Smashbox, the makeup brand, was hosting and it was probably one of the coolest events I’ve been privileged enough to attend! I had never been to an event like this and I didn’t really know what to expect, so I brought my best friend Jill along to enjoy the festivities with me!

Their invite said “Join us for a summer sunset cruise. Food, cocktails, ocean breezes”… HOW COULD I NOT GO?! This was back in August and the weather was beyond perfect, a lovely end of summer afternoon on a yacht… what a life.

The yacht had FOUR LEVELS to it, and we were handed drinks immediately as we walked on!

There was a cute mirror just down the hall from the entrance that listed all the different activities we could do on each of the levels! 1st floor had gift bags (always my favorite part of any party, naturally), the 2nd floor was blocked off for the crew, the 3rd floor had a dance floor, food, a photo booth, flash tattoos and of course drinks. Then on the top deck they had ALCOHOLIC POPSICLES, yes, and they were delicious. They also had a fortune teller that read your lipstick mark, MINI GOLF, and of course more drinks. It was pretty overwhelming when we first got on because we didn’t know where to start!!! All we knew was that we probablyyyy should grab one of the cute drinks they were serving inside coconuts, because how could we not.

Everything they had on the yacht was decorated perfectly to the theme, tonnsss of sailing stuff! From the decorations to the details on the cupcakes (which were delish).

After fully exploring the yacht we decided that first we were going to get in line for the lip reader, which is basically a psychic. I’m not sure how much I believe in that kind of thing, but we figured it would be fun! Jill went first, and hers seemed pretty accurate to what was happening in her life at the time so I was very excited to see how mine went! I was just getting into a new relationship so I was hoping she’d have something good to say about it… but nope. My reading basically said that right now is a great time for me to be single and that I’m very happy that way. I didn’t want to be rude so I just agreed with whatever she was saying, trying to not make her feel bad haha but I knew it wasn’t very legit.

After that we

went on and did whatever else we could around the boat. Hit up the photo booth of course, they even had cute sailor accessories for the pictures that we loved! We even tried the mini golf, but it was a little too windy up on the deck so the balls just kept going everywhere ahaha. Then we got some flash tattoos, grabbed a couple more drinks, danced around a bit and did every activity that we could. Once we did it all, we decided to stand in front of the door that food kept being brought out of. We wanted to be the first people to snag whatever snack they had next, our favorite was definitely the chicken kabobs with the blue cheese sauce… YUM! We seriously ate so many of them that the people serving them started to know our names lol.

We tried the alcoholic popsicles and they were actually pretty good! Though, they did start falling apart pretty quickly and I’m not the biggest fan of sticky fingers haha so we ended up just sticking to our drinks in a cup ahaha.

It was such a fun party with a beautiful sunset from the top deck, and a beautiful gift bag as we walked off ;)!  The gift bag basically just had some beach accessories, like a towel, some waterproof makeup and some other stuff! Such a perfect event to end off the summer on a great note!

It was such an incredible experience that I HOPE I get the opportunity to do again!! I vlogged the entire party so if you’d like to watch, it’s linked below!! The yacht part starts around 3:12! :)
