OAHU Travel Guide

After spending a week on the beautiful island of Oahu, I feel ready to give you guys a pretty extensive list of things to do there.

In today’s post I’ll be sharing some of the beaches we went to, photo spots, places to eat, and other little tips & tricks to getting the most out of your time!

Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden

This is by far one of the most stunning spots I’ve ever seen on the island. The botanical gardens are massive; its a 30 minute drive from each end! We were completely in awe at all times & actually shot TWO outfits in this one location because of how beautiful it was!

Town of Haleiwa

Haleiwa is a small down on the north shore of the island and it’s basically an Instagram heaven. From different colored walls to WINGS, you’ll definitely get a sick shot here. Pretty much anywhere around the north shore is incredibly photogenic though!

Spitting Caves

This isn’t a super tourist-y spot which is something I really like about it! It’s right at the end of some residential neighborhood and you have to do a little bit of climbing to get down there but it’s so worth it! Great for pics & also just to enjoy the view!

The Shoreline Hotel

This is where we stayed while in Hawaii; the Shoreline Waikiki! This hotel is also made for the ‘gram. Everything is colorful, neon, and they have tons of props set up around the hotel. I could not recommend staying here more! Super thankful to them for having us :)

Camp Erdman

This is a super specific spot, but for anyone that watched LOST… you have to visit! This was the ‘Other’s Camp’ in the show and it is so cool getting to walk through it! It genuinely makes you feel like you’re on THE island hahah!

Sunset Catamaran Cruise

This is a great activity and also such a cool photo opportunity. We paid $45 for the 2 hour sunset cruise which included unlimited drinks! BOOZE CRUISE! Seriously it was so much fun and we got the coolest photos!

With all that being said, everywhere in Hawaii is a photo spot. By no means do you have to go anywhere specific to get a stunning shot!

Waikiki Beach

World famous, Waikiki Beach is definitely a hotspot! It was just a couple blocks from our hotel so we went almost every morning! It was perfect!

Lanikai Beach

Quite possibly my favorite beach EVER. The water is so clear and the sand is so bright! It’s absolutely beautiful. You absolutely have to go!

Waimea Bay

This is sadly the only photo I had from that beach, but it’s incredible for watching the waves! Some of the biggest waves I’ve ever seen! It’s over on the North Shore so definitely check it out when you’re around there.

The Spontaneous Beaches

You’ll see as you explore the island that there are so many random beaches by the side of the road. It’s really fun stopping to check some of them out, especially because they’re super secluded! We found this one with little tide pools! So cute!

Manoa Falls Trail

This was the one and only hike we did during our trip but it was absolutely perfect! So lush and leads you to a beautiful waterfall! Definitely a hike for anyone, it’s not hard by any means.

PRO TIP: it’s rained every time I’ve done this hike & it’s incredibly muddy. So pack accordingly!

Nalu Health Bar

This place was in a marketplace with a bunch of other different cafes. Everything looked so good!

My order: Portobello Mushroom Sandwich

Arvo Cafe

The most adorable coffee & toast spot I’ve ever seen. Fresh flowers on the table, and great service!

My order: The Loaded Avocado Toast

Agu Ramen

Naturally we had to get ramen on our trip. This place was really good! The appetizers were the best though!

My order: The Vegan Tan Tan, Parmesan Brussel Sprouts & The Agucini (Fried Rice Balls)

Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck

This is a super famous shrimp truck and the line is always pretty line, but always worth the wait. I don’t eat seafood but Jill really liked the Shrimp Scampi.

My order: Garlic Rice (with extra garlic). still nice and satisfying & garlicy!!!

Taco’ako

THE BEST TACO SPOT. In the cutest area, with the cutest neon sign. Each taco was amazing, inducing their special at the time! Wow.

My order: Avocado Taco, Cauliflower Taco, Huitlacoche Taco (the special)

Island Vintage Coffee

I’m so sad we discovered this at the end of our trip. Perfect spot for coffee and/or an actual meal. Our last morning we got the best bagel I’ve ever had.

My order: The Veggie Bagel (their macadamia nut pesto cream cheese was EVERYTHING)
