FF #2: Euro Edition

Friday Favorites #2: Europe Edition

Welcome to week 2 of my Friday favorites!

This week has been much more interesting than my usual week… due to the fact that I’m in EUROPE! I know, crazy, I don’t believe it either. If you haven’t seen my first Friday faves, check it out HERE! It’s been a little more difficult trying to get this up because of the lack of wifi, but I managed to make it happen (please be impressed).

All these favorites are from my trip and there is so much more I can’t wait to share with you from my adventures through Italy, Croatia & Greece! But for now, here are my faves for my 5 weekly categories!

Favorite Items of the Week

Polaroids

There’s something about taking polaroid pictures on vacation that I absolutely cannot do without!

I’ve always loved capturing moments in time and having them to look back at years later. I’ve been taking pictures since I was a little kid and I can vividly remember always trying to steal my dad’s cameras to take my own photos! When I was around 14-15, my friends and I would alwayssss do photoshoots around the neighborhood and it is HILARIOUS (and embarrassing) to look back at those pictures now!

It’s so easy to capture moments on a phone, or a point and shoot camera, or even a DSLR. But those are all digital and there’s something so fascinating about watching a polaroid print your photo as soon as it’s taken. That very specific memory is captured in a little sheet of plastic, maybe a little overexposed or a little too dark… but it’s there. Yes, you can print your digital photos and have it be similar BUT it will never be the same.

I mean, DUH! Seriously a vacation essential to me and I don’t know what I did before dry shampoo was a thing.

It’s seriously a lifesaver when you’re getting up early in the morning to head out for an excursion and you don’t have time to fix your hair!

On the cruise, we’ve been having to wake up at around 7:30am each morning so that we can get off the boat and have a full day at every stop, which leaves little time for getting ready. So needless to say, this has been a staple in my life this week!

If you’ve never tried dry shampoo before… WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!? Throughout my years of using dry shampoo (I think I started when I was 15), I’ve tried numerous different brands and Batiste is by far my favorite. I also really like that they have a dark hair option for my dark roots. I definitely recommend giving the ones I have linked a try, I promise you’ll end up thanking me!! :)

What I’m Watching

Big Brother Season 19

THE SHOW OF THE SUMMER!!!!! To be honest, I haven’t gotten to watch ANY of my shows this week but as soon as I land back home I’ll be binging the FOUR episodes of Big Brother that I’ve missed! In case you’ve never seen BB, it airs 3x a week and it’s become a serious addiction of mine. I’ve always started watching but never made it to the end of a season (I truly do not know why).

Everyone always asks what my thoughts are on this season, so I thought this week would be the perfect opportunity to share! Keep in mind, I’m four episodes behind so my thoughts could be a little outdated haha!

I am sick and tired of Paul running the house without anybody realizing what’s going on, like HELLO!!! He’s just so arrogant & I truly hope he doesn’t end up winning the season. I only just decided this past week that I’m rooting for Jason to win, up until now I wasn’t really rooting for anyone haha! I think he’s a super stand up guy and has really worked hard in comps PLUS how sweet was that when he found out he was having another baby?!

Jess & Cody were dumb lol, and Jess should’ve used her temptation to keep her safe. She had so much potential but blew it for Cody which kind of made me sad. But anyways, those are my current thoughts on BB!! Let’s discuss more in the comments!!

LET’S EAT!

European Gelato

Stracciatella is a variety of gelato, consisting of milk-based ice cream filled with fine, irregular shavings of chocolate.

There is no excuse for not having gelato while in Europe. Naturally, our first day off the ship my mom and I each got some cones! Hers was biscuit flavored and mine was stracciatella. It was a steamy 90 degrees in Dubrovnik, Croatia so of course the gelato ended up all over our hands but it was well worth it. The perfect treat to end off a long day in the sun!

Favorite Outfit

Athens, Greece

Seriously so hard to pick this weeks favorite outfit, I’ve loved so many of them!

I’ve really tried to wear more “stylish” and cute outfits than just a regular pair of denim shorts (which I haven’t even worn ONCE this trip, so I’m proud). My favorite outfit is actually what I wore yesterday in Athens. I paired this romper with my plain white sneakers which brightens up the look and makes it even more comfortable, while still looking cute!

I’m starting to really appreciate things like dresses and rompers (I’m so late to the game, I know) and haven’t had any interest in my plain ripped denim shorts since I’ve come to this new realization. I’ve always gravitated towards those shorts because I thought they were the easy ‘go-to’ option, but really… rompers/dresses are EVEN EASIER and look a lot more put together!

Something to Think About

The world is big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark.
— John Muir

This weeks quote is something I think about a lot & it makes a lot of sense for this specific time in my life. The world really is so entirely big and for as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to see every part of it. I’ve always wanted to travel the world and experience new places and lifestyles. Life is short, who knows when the perfect opportunity will come where you get the chance to cross off parts of your bucket list? You have to make the most out of every moment and take chances, do things that YOU want to do. Want to travel the world? Work your ass off and make it happen. Time is too limited to do anything but chase your dreams.

Friday faves week TWO! Honestly guys, I didn’t think I’d be able to get this up due to my limited access to internet. But here I am, making it happen from somewhere in the middle of the ocean. These are really fun for me to post because I feel like I can talk to you and share all my favorite things and then get to read all your favorite things in the comments!

I have so many insanely cool posts coming up from my Europe trip that I cannot wait to share with you guys! Until then, see you next week! :)
