Montenegro

Kotor, Montenegro

Kotor, Montenegro… another spot added to my list of “MUST GO BACK”s.

Before booking my cruise, I truly had never even heard of Montenegro (I know, how!?!?) but I’m so glad it was one of our stops. We unfortunately didn’t have that much time to explore, as the boat left port at 2pm. We were off the boat by 8:30am but if we went on any of the cool tours, we wouldn’t have made it back to our ship in time!

This was our only stop where we had to tender from the boat to land (thankfully because tendering is kind of a pain). Though, the view out the window was to die for so it wasn’t too bad ;)!

WHAT WE DID IN KOTOR

As I said before, we really didn’t have that much time in Montenegro and there weren’t really any tours available. Even with our limited amount of time, it was still one of my favorite spots on our trip.

Before arriving at each of our destinations, I did a little bit of research about each city to get an idea of what to expect!

A lot of people wrote that Kotor is basically a mini Dubrovnik, which I can totally agree with (at least from what I got to see). Both equally beautiful in their own ways!

As we didn’t have that much time, we basically just spent the morning/afternoon exploring the town (and getting very lost). We stopped for some iced lattes at around 11am, they actually had on the menu “american coffee with milk” so we knew that was the place to stop! My mom and I both like very sweet lattes so we were on the hunt for something similar to our usuals.

Our coffees were actually very delicious! It mostly tasted like milk but still YUM… some sweet sugary milk haha! They had free wifi so we definitely spent quite a bit of time sitting there!!

FUN FACT! APPARENTLY KOTOR IS VERY FAMOUS FOR THEIR CATS. BECAUSE OF THIS, THEY ACTUALLY HAVE THEIR VERY OWN CAT MUSEUM. A MUSEUM DEDICATED TO CATS. IF I WASN’T ALLERGIC, YOU BET I WOULD’VE BEEN IN THERE.

We got to see so many beautiful spots in Kotor, including a bunch of random staircases leading up to empty spaces. I thought this staircase was just so stunning; from the railings to the mystery of what could be up there. A lot of the other staircases like this led up to people’s apartments.
I also loved seeing the small churches in the town and as well as the stunning cathedrals.

Though our time in Montenegro was short, it was very much loved. We got back on our boat by 2pm and watched us sail away from such a beautiful country. I hope to come back and spend more time exploring more of what Montenegro has to offer!

Also, if you’re wondering about my outfit details… I will have a full post with my Europe outfits coming up soon! So get ready for that!!!

Hope you guys enjoyed today’s post!! Can’t wait to share the rest of my Europe trip with you! :)
