An HOUR in Austin, TX
I’ve been to many different cities that I will absolutely need to go back to, and Austin is one of them.
Unfortunately I was only there for around an hour as I had a flight to catch and we ran out of gas on the 3 hour drive from San Angelo… which kinda put a damper on the day we were supposed to have.
Being the optimistic person that I am, I wanted to make the most out the hour we had and tried to do everything we could before heading to the airport! So today’s post is a few things you can do in Austin TX on a time crunch!
\\ You’re My Butter Half Wall \\
2000 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78702
This is just one of a couple cool wall pictures we took in Austin. You pretty much just stop for the picture and move on. We got lucky and a family happened to be walking by when we got there so they took the photo for us! A great picture opportunity if you’re with a significant other or even just a friend!
\\ Graffiti Park at Castle Hill \\
\\ I Love You So Much Wall \\
1300 S Congress Ave Austin, TX 78704
Here we have wall #2 of our hour in Austin and I think this one takes the cake. It’s way more simple than the first wall we saw, but it’s an iconic IG wall in Austin! It’s truly just writing on a wall but the meaning behind it is so much more important. Watching people take pictures with their loved ones always brightens my day!
Fun fact! This iconic wall is on the side of Jo’s Coffee, which offers coffee *duh* and quick bites! They have a great patio with open seating and we figured we’d grab a quick sandwich here after taking our pictures! We both got a cold chicken sandwich (low-key it was kind of dry, but I still ate it) and enjoyed people watching from our table.
While I have ya here, I thought I’d share my outfit details!
\\ Hotel San Jose \\
1316 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704
By this point we were pretty much out of time and needed to head to the airport BUT we saw a cute little sign advertising 50% off frosé (frozen rosé). Obviously we couldn’t pass that up.
That was it for my hour in Austin and YES, we truly did all of that in just an hour. Keep in mind, we did rush through most of it… so if you want to really enjoy it I recommend giving yourself more time haha! I’d love to go back and explore more of South Congress street, a lot of you recommended so many spots there that I would’ve loved to try!
Have you ever been to Austin? If so, where would you recommend I go next time? :)
